JOB SUMMARY:
The Systems Engineer on the Ice & Rain Protection Systems (IPS) team will oversee and support the design and certification activity of aircraft components & systems through the creation of requirements and specifications, execution of certification and development tests, and resolution of issues on aircraft and test articles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* IDevelop component/system descriptions, requirements, and specifications.
* Coordinate and collaborate within the IPS team, and across Engineering functional areas, to support design and certification activity - this includes, but is not limited to:
* Creation and review of certification plans and reports
* Creation and review of test plans and reports
* Coordination and execution of required testing, both flight and ground
* Coordination with suppliers on the design and qualification of ice protection components
* Creation of supporting analyses, both mechanical and thermal
* Defining ice shapes required for various flight test aircraft and test programs
* Create and support Development Assurance and System Safety documents.
* Coordinate across multiple departments, including Experimental, Flight Test, Project Design, Quality, and Supply Chain to meet company, department, and program objectives.
* Support resolution of issues on Production line and in-service aircraft, as well as flight test aircraft and certification/development test articles.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree required in:
* Aerospace Engineering
* Mechanical Engineering
* Other related field
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at once, while maintaining the ability to adapt to fluid program demands and objectives.
* Prior experience with Ice & Rain Protection system analysis, development, and certification is preferred.
* Proficiency with MS Office applications is preferred.
* Familiarity with CFD and/or thermal analysis software is a plus, as is familiarity with CATIA & ENOVIA PLM applications.
* Familiarity with CFR Part 23 and Part 25 regulations is a plus.
