JOB SUMMARY

As an Assistant Retail Manager, you will support the Store Manager in recruiting, training, and managing store personnel to achieve personal and store sales goals while controlling expenses and protecting company assets.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Meet and exceed personal sales goals and store performance standards.
  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring of high-caliber employees.
  • Help train and develop a successful sales team.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to employees and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Implement all company initiatives to the expected standards.
  • Recognize and nurture talent within the staff for growth opportunities.
  • Supervise store operations in the absence of the Store Manager and Manager in Training.
  • Manage loss prevention practices in the absence of the Store Manager and Manager in Training.
  • Effectively communicate store needs to the Store Manager and Manager in Training.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Deliver a fun, full-service experience to every customer.
  • Complete bank deposits as required.
  • Demonstrate understanding and appreciation of the Journeys culture to the team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior retail management experience preferred.
  • 6-12 months of retail sales experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Drive to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Completion of training programs leading to a Co-Manager position or equivalent training.
  • Ability to work approximately 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
  • Physical ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift products up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
