Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused professional to lead our Bakery and Fresh Bread Department. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring consistent product quality, maintaining excellent customer service, and supporting the growth and development of department associates. As the first point of contact for many customers, the Head of Bakery must combine technical knowledge of baked goods with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all department operations, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency of bakery products.
Prepare, operate, and maintain baking equipment, ovens, and slicing machines according to safety and quality standards.
Monitor product storage, labeling, and inventory to maintain freshness and availability.
Place and present products attractively in showcases to maximize sales.
Train, supervise, and manage new and existing associates, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Maintain knowledge of all bakery products and communicate product details effectively to customers and staff.
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening, anticipating needs, resolving concerns, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Collaborate with store management to address customer feedback and employee matters.
Complete production and inventory records as needed.
Adapt to changes in procedures to meet evolving business and customer needs.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Previous work experience in a bakery, food retail, or related environment required; supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
Strong technical knowledge of baked goods, bakery operations, and equipment use.
Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to lead, motivate, and train a diverse team.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
