Cash & Banking Coordinator Location San Antonio, TX (North Central area) :
Cash & Banking Coordinator -(00042229) Description Summary Description: This position is responsible for handling all aspects of cash and banking transactions, including reconciling bank accounts, monitoring cash flows, pending deposits, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reconciles interest expense and interest payable, including fees and cash.
- Prepare daily and weekly cash flow reports to monitor cash position and forecast future cash needs.
- Maintains responsibility for recording and analyzing cash and interest accounting transactions.
- Process wire transfers and ACH payments as needed.
- Prepares journal entries for accruals and cash transactions. Reviews monthly general ledger for accuracy and makes corrections, as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures and regulations, including internal controls.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to cash transactions.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all cash and banking transactions.
- Tracks, reviews, and reports performance of banking relations according to forecast and identifies causation of significant variances with recommendations.
- Summarizes treasury department activities, providing analysis and financial statement classification to ensure accuracy and risk mitigation.
- Creates and documents processes and procedures for treasury management functions.
- Analyzes and reports on banking and cash management, ensuring accounting reports are prepared accurately and timely.
- Assists with training and departmental projects as assigned.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in preparing and researching revenue reports preferred
- Experience in financial, analytical, planning, and forecasting expertise preferred
- 0+ months experience preferably in cash and banking industry
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Possess strong organizational, analytical, customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to articulate processes to both business and operational users
- Ability to record problematic areas and the procedures employed to resolve the issue
- Proficient in creating standard operating procedures (SOP), process map(s) and ability to maintain SOPs audit-ready
- Ability to handle confidential information including financial transactions and company records
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Visio (as applicable)
- Proficiency in JD Edwards (as applicable)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Basic professional or theoretical knowledge and fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization in the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities
- Basic understanding of budgetary concepts and procedures
- Basic understanding of departmental structure and policies with an elementary understanding of the cross- functional structure and policies of Whataburger Restaurants LLC
- Basic ability to delegate tasks and get work done through others
