About the Role

We are looking for a growth-oriented Chief Executive Officer of our portfolio company - an event management software company. The CEO will be responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership for the company, with a particular focus on driving Go-To-Market (GTM) execution and market expansion. Working with the Operating Partner and team, the CEO will establish the strategy and operating plan to reach the company's revenue goals and profitability and will execute upon it. The successful candidate will have high levels of passion, intellect, drive and grit and will be a customer-facing, self-confident, team-oriented individual who acts with unquestioned integrity, transparency and energy. Main Responsibilities: - Define and communicate a compelling vision and growth strategy for the business and lead overall execution. - Work with thel team to facilitate a seamless transition from a previous owner across all the key areas of the business. - Rapidly master and understand the differentiating product capabilities and engage with current and prospective customers. - Establish and further enhance relationships within the existing client base with a focus on retention, client satisfaction, and incremental value creation. - Develop and refine a GTM strategy to drive growth within the existing and new market segments via direct sales, and partnerships. - Execute on the GTM strategy by selling the company's solutions across multiple channels. - Maintain healthy and predictable growth by establishing and consistently meeting the execution milestones of the company’s financial and operating plans. - Develop and execute operational initiatives to continually improve profitability. - Develop a visible presence in the market and generate positive exposure for the business as a thought leader in the industry among customers, partners, influencers, and stakeholders. - Bring outstanding leadership to the organization. When the time comes and the company's financials allow it - build, retain, and mentor a world-class team consisting of diverse and complementary skill sets and experience. - Extend a winning culture at the Operating Company where the team is engaged, challenged to succeed, and rewarded appropriately. - This role requires a dynamic leader who can travel as needed to support business operations and growth initiatives. Qualifications & Experience: - Proven success record in management within a commercial / SaaS environment - having managed a company with more than $5M ARR and direct P&L responsibility. - Deep understanding of the market of events and event management software will be a great advantage. - At least 5 years of experience in software B2B sales and sales team management. - Strong hands-on skills and a frugal mindset. - Outstanding people management and leadership skills: experience in leading and shaping distributed global teams as well as recruiting, developing and retaining talent. - Proven ability to foster a culture of ownership and autonomy in your team. - Strong strategic thinking and complex problem-solving skills with multiple stakeholders. - Ability to quickly switch between macro and micro context. - Product sense, user-centricity and the ability to shape the product at a high level, and strong familiarity with software product development. - P&L experience, with strong financial literacy and business acumen. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and solve complex issues, tackle management and leadership situations effectively, influence internal and external stakeholders, including reporting to the Board.
