About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer with a strong background in risk management within the commodities sector, particularly in the area of grain markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading internal discussions to shape market outlook, devise hedging strategies, and assess key market indicators. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics and risk management tools, as well as the ability to create new business opportunities and strategic alliances. The Chief Risk Officer will also oversee professional merchandising for key clients, including marketing plans, hedges, and logistics, and must be capable of formulating and executing risk management strategies, monitoring market trends, and managing data with precision. Applicants for the Chief Risk Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in business, agricultural economics, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and practical work experience. A minimum of 3 years' experience in cash grain merchandising is essential, along with a Series 3 license or the ability to obtain one. The role demands a candidate with a strong background in cash grain trading, futures and options, and risk management strategies. The Chief Risk Officer will also be expected to support the management of farm marketing, trading, and logistics operations, and therefore must be capable of working independently under pressure and handling multiple priorities effectively. Familiarity with futures, spread, basis, and logistics risks is a key requirement for this position.
