The Cleaner will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and perform a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services. Such duties shall be in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services. Typical job duties and responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, and washing floors and other surfaces inside buildings; using light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines; vacuuming rugs in offices and public areas; spot cleaning and shampooing rugs when directed; cleaning and dusting furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces including periodic high dusting; washing windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows; washing glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior; washing and spot cleaning interior walls daily; cleaning bathrooms and restocking paper supplies daily with standard bathroom procedures; monitoring possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out and reporting to supervisors; collecting building trash daily and placing it in approved containers for removal; replacing liners in waste baskets and trash containers; sweeping or shoveling snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed; performing periodic work such as high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, and wall washing; and any other duties as assigned. Requirements include no previous experience needed, ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision, ability to function cooperatively as part of a team, ability to use cleaning tools and equipment including a portable backpack vacuum cleaner, attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance. Compensation depends on factors such as collective bargaining agreements, geographic area, market pay rates, and candidate experience and qualifications, with a minimum wage guarantee. The compensation for this position is $16.25 per hour.
