Job Summary: We are supporting our client, a large non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, in their search for an experienced Software Architect/Senior Software Engineer. This is a direct hire position, ideal for candidates interested in a hybrid work arrangement located in either Washington, D.C., Columbus, OH office. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage scalable cloud solutions, with a primary focus on AWS and additional expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as a plus. As part of the Foundational & Technology Operations vertical within the Global Technology Services (GTS) division, you will lead cloud automation, security, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes management, and DevOps practices. Collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, you will drive innovation in cloud infrastructure, ensuring efficiency, security, and seamless deployment of enterprise solutions. Key Responsibilities: 10+ years of experience in application development/solution architecture Cloud Architecture & Development: Design, implement, and manage scalable AWS cloud solutions, with GCP experience as a plus Infrastructure Automation: Develop and manage infrastructure automation with Terraform, focusing on security and scalability Kubernetes Expertise: Deploy and manage AWS EKS clusters, optimizing performance and scalability CI/CD & DevOps: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and containerization strategies Security & IAM Management: Work on Org Units, IAM roles, and implement DevSecOps best practices Cloud-Native & Serverless Computing: Utilize AWS serverless frameworks to enhance scalability and efficiency Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with software and AI engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers Legacy Workflow Integration: Manage ArgoCD, Airflow, Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Bamboo pipelines Technical Ownership: Act as a tech owner for software products, liaising with stakeholders and presenting cloud solutions Continuous Learning: Stay updated with cloud and AI advancements, driving innovation and modern architecture solutions Qualifications Bachelor in Science or better in Computer Engineering or related field Certifications in AWS Solutions Architect Professional and Kubernetes Knowledge of publisher IT environments Preferred Licenses & Certifications (One or More a Plus) AWS SysOpsAdmAssoc AWS Cert Cloud Prac AWS Cert Sol Arch-Assoc AWS CertSolArchProf Required Experience : 10+ years: Application development/solution architecture experience, with at least 7 years in AWS 5+ years: Strong communication and leadership skills, experience in DevOps tools, Infrastructure as Code, and security best practices Proficiency in Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools: Expertise in cloud automation, container orchestration, and build/deployment strategies Cloud-Native & Serverless: Experience in AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and event-driven architecture Technical Ownership: Proven experience in architecting IT solutions, managing cloud infrastructure, and working with AI/ML applications (preferred but not required) US Citizenship required for this Position : Yes Performance Location :Columbus, OH or Washington, DC Relocation Assistance : No Clearance Type : None Travel Required : 2x or 3x a week inColumbus, OH or Washington, D.C Salary : Dependent on Experience $130K - $160K Powered by JazzHR kzzhEbgjRx Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Engineering and Information Technology Industries Internet Publishing Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Connect Centric by 2x Get notified about new Cloud Architect jobs in Washington, DC .
