Lead Receptionist/Concierge

Job Summary

We are seeking a professional Lead Receptionist/Concierge that will support our client front desk in San Diego, CA.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of local businesses, entertainment venues and travel options. Were looking for a Concierge who understands the value of excellent customer service. The primary responsibilities of this position are greeting and check-in of customers and guests into the Leidos Visitor Registration System. This will include creating and issuing photo ID and access control badges to Leidos contractors and visitors, ensuring the security of the building and being the face of Leidos. Candidates are expected to present a pleasant and professional impression to all guests. Be highly organized, dedicated, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.

Job Responsibilities

* **Work hours are from 7:00AM until 4:00PM, punctuality is crucial**

* Greet guest at the front desk and make visitor badges

* Make reservations at local establishments upon request

* Motivates Concierge Team to exceed guest and client expectations

* Holds field Concierge team accountable when not following policies, procedures, and standards

* Trains and coaches field Concierge team on policies, procedures, programs, and standards of excellence

* Helps manager in scheduling for the Concierge team and ensures that timecards are accurate for payroll

* Ensures the Concierge Desk appears professional and fully stocked with information including local maps, brochures and event literature

* Works directly with the Manager and on-site Management Team to plan and execute property Concierge and tourism initiatives in partnership with local commerce and tourism organizations

* Prepare and display beverage and snacks options for guest

* Answering phone calls and transferring to appropriate employee

* General administrative and clerical support

* Assisting other departments with ad hoc assignments

* Badging Visitors

* Make conference room reservations

* Oversee field reception staff that are offsite, meet virtually, weekly, provide performance feedback and deliver annual performance reviews

* Emailing employees about messages left for general public

* Submit work orders for building maintenance

* Order catering for meetings as requested

* Escorting guests

* Any and all other duties and tasks assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* 2+ years Receptionist/Administrative experience required.

* High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or college coursework is preferred.

* Some professional experience working in an administrative role in a very busy front desk setting is preferred.

* Pleasant phone manner.

* Basic knowledge of locale attractions and destinations.

* Must be able to work in a busy and quickly changing fast paced environment.

* Excellent customer service skills are essential for success in this role.

* Flexibility as it relates to work start and end times as needed.

* Candidate must be able to communicate professionally both in person and in writing.

* The applicant must possess strong organizational skills and have a positive, problem-solving attitude and be able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

* Proficiency with desktop computing platforms (PC) and applications (MS Office Suite).

* Adhere to the dress code and appearance policy.
