SUMMARY:

The Events Manager will serve as the leader driving the strategic planning, design, and flawless execution of SPR’s corporate event initiatives. Operating as a key member of the Marketing leadership team and reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing, this role demands a strategic thinker and creative visionary with deep expertise in experiential marketing and event production.

The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of delivering large-scale, brand-elevating experiences across executive-level conferences, trade shows, client-facing engagements, and internal culture-building events. This individual must combine business acumen, high-level project management skills, and outstanding relationship-building abilities to create memorable, mission-aligned experiences that drive engagement and elevate SPR’s market presence.

Work Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Event Leadership

Develop and own the long-term event strategy aligned with SPR’s brand identity, growth initiatives, and go-to-market priorities. This includes leading cross-functional planning sessions with executive leadership, sales, marketing, and operations to define clear event objectives and measurable outcomes, while also maintaining and optimizing a comprehensive corporate events calendar that ensures a strategic balance between internal engagements, customer-facing activations, and industry-focused conferences.

End-to-End Event Execution

Lead the end-to-end execution of high-impact experiences, including flagship conferences, executive briefings, customer summits, trade shows, and internal engagement events. This role is responsible for managing every phase of the event lifecycle—from initial concept development and venue selection to full-scale production, vendor coordination, and post-event evaluation—ensuring seamless delivery and measurable success.

Vendor & Contract Oversight

Responsible for negotiating and managing complex contracts with hotels, venues, production agencies, and service providers to ensure cost efficiency and mitigate risk. This includes leading RFP processes and building a network of preferred vendors, all while upholding high service standards and maintaining consistency with SPR’s brand and experience expectations.

Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with senior leaders across Marketing, Sales, Communications, HR, and Product to ensure event strategies are fully aligned with SPR’s overarching organizational goals. In addition, this role oversees, mentors, and supports both internal team members and external contractors involved in event execution, fostering excellence, accountability, and cohesion throughout the

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and leverages feedback mechanisms, surveys, and ROI tracking to assess event effectiveness and drive ongoing improvement. This role also maintains a forward-looking perspective on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously elevate SPR’s event experiences.   • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level events (500+ attendees), C-suite engagements, and global activations.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with proven ability to manage multimillion-dollar budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Deep expertise in event design, audience engagement strategy, and brand storytelling through live and hybrid experiences.
  • Executive-level presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours in alignment with event schedules.

REQUIRED SKILLS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in event strategy, experiential marketing, or high-profile corporate event production.
  • CMP, CMM, or relevant professional certification.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Capable of effectively presenting a range of information to a variety of people. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, campaign details, press releases and/or email copy to headquarters personnel, field sales team, customers and general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, margin and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Use intuition to make decisions with limited guidance or a standardized process. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited normalization exists. Ability to organize, prioritize and manage projects.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in enterprise event tools such as Cvent, Splash, Bizzabo, or similar platforms, as well as Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.

The employee is occasionally required to lift to 10 lbs. in managing equipment needed for training sessions. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires up to 30% business travel.
