Job Description
Looking for energetic and lively dental assistants for a brand new Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, specialty startup office. Unparalleled growth opportunity for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Assist oral maxillofacial surgeon in provision of dental care to patients.
- As needed, perform administrative tasks such as patient check in, post op call, appointment scheduling, charting, sending prescriptions.
- Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment as per protocol.
- Prepare surgical rooms before and after patient care and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols.
- Assist the surgeon with all patient procedures including surgical room setup, anesthesia administration, and cleanup among others.
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitoring vital signs before, during and after procedures.
- As needed, Provide patients with information on oral health care, treatment plans, and postoperative instructions/translation.
- As needed, Monitor stock of surgical supplies and medication and assist to order , as needed.
- Ensure that instruments and equipment are effectively run and maintained following all standard protocols.
- Assist the surgeon and rest of staff in all phases of patient care, striving to make each step perfect
- Strictly adhere to HIPAA standards in the protection of patient personal information
- Follow OSHA standards and other local body rules and regulations and cleaning protocols
- As needed, help with front desk tasks such as billing, treatment plan presentation, medical billing, insurance verification, answering phone calls etc
Education/Skills:
- High school diploma (minimum)
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Knowledge of open dental software a plus
- Knowledge of quickbooks/accounting software a plus
- Other certifications are a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Willing to wear multiple hats at the same time and a great team player
Benefits (401K, Health insurance) are for full time employees only after an initial waiting period.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
