Job Description

TRU has the pleasure of representing a leading law firm, seeking an experienced and detail-oriented eDiscovery Project Manager to join their growing litigation support team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing the entire eDiscovery process for firm matters, working closely with case teams, clients, and third-party providers. Responsibilities include project planning, data management, communication and liaison, project documentation, and leading managed document reviews. Strong technical prowess in Relativity is essential, as are superior communication and soft skills. This is a hybrid role, 1-2 days/week onsite and the rest remote, and can sit in any locale our client has an office.

Responsibilities:
Project Planning:
  • Reviews Matter materials and collaborates with the Practice Solutions and case teams to identify key custodians and sources of ESI
  • Collaborates with Case team, clients, and Practice Solutions team to determine project scope, objectives, and budget requirements
  • Collaborates with Practice Solutions team, case team, and client to engage 3rd party providers for any phase of matter as needed
  • Monitors budget and escalates any issues or deviations to Practice Solutions Director
Data Management:
  • Works closely with case teams, client IT personnel, and, when needed, 3rd party providers, to determine effective and efficient data collection strategies
  • Manages or oversees the collection process with external providers
  • Manages or oversees the loading of data into eDiscovery platforms, resolving any issues and analyzing data to offer insights and efficiency gains to case teams
  • Preserves, stores, and logs all case related files and communications in requisite Practice Solutions database(s) and location(s) so team members can coordinate and assist on matters easily and efficiently
Communication and Liaison:
  • Serves as a liaison between case team and technical teams ensuring clear communication on project status, progress, and any potential roadblocks
  • Facilitates collaboration among stakeholders and works closely with Practice Solutions team members to address any concerns, delays, etc.
Project Documentation:
  • Creates and maintains project documentation, including timelines, workflows, and issue logs; and documents any deviations from standard procedures
  • Leads Managed Document Reviews
  • Defines project scope & budget, works closely with case team and provider to establish protocols, coordinate, and manage provider engagement and oversight, ensures adequate internal quality control and oversight, monitors review progress and ensures project is staying on budget and on time, elevates issues to Practice Solutions Director, and coordinates with Practice Solutions team members and case team to conduct a post-review analysis to identify areas of improvement
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
  • Stays current with industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to eDiscovery and makes recommendations for process improvements
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the quality of deliverables
  • Champions innovation and the adoption of new technologies to drive continuous improvement in eDiscovery project management practices
Qualifications: 
  • Some experience as an eDiscovery Project Manager
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks & matters simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with eDiscovery tools and platforms (e.g., Relativity, RelativityOne, PageVault, Opus2, etc.)
  • Expertise with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM)
  • Collaborative workstyle allowing for easy integration into the tight-knit, high-performing Practice Solutions team
  • ACEDs and Legal Project management certifications are a plus
Expected salary for this exempt role is $90,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
