Commercial Electrical Estimator - Cedar Rapids, IA
Electrical Concepts - established for over 23 years in the Cedar Rapids area - seeks a humble, hungry, and smart Commercial Electrical Estimator who understands that relationships drive business success and wants to help us grow.
The Right Person:
HUMBLE - You listen more than you talk, learn from every project, and aren't too proud to ask questions.
HUNGRY - You actively pursue opportunities, follow up persistently, and take ownership of growing our win rate.
SMART - You understand both the technical and business sides, communicating effectively with everyone from apprentices to CEOs.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare accurate estimates for diverse commercial projects - multi-family housing, office buildings, manufacturing, medical/dental, and more
- Build strong relationships with GCs throughout Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas
- Review plans, conduct site visits, and develop winning bids across multiple sectors
- Help select and implement estimating software to modernize our processes
- Work with our skilled electrical team for seamless estimate-to-execution handoffs
- Track and analyze results to continuously improve win rates
What We're Looking For:
Proven electrical estimating experience with documented success - show us your win rates, estimate accuracy, and GC relationships that resulted in repeat business.

- Proven track record - Specific results and successes you can point to
- Relationship builder - References from GCs/clients who vouch for your trustworthiness
- Results-driven - You measure success and can articulate improvements you've made
- Strong communicator - Influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Self-starter - Identify opportunities and take action without direction
