Entry Level Scientist 1 - Wet Chemistry at Pace Analytical Services summary:

As an Entry Level Scientist I in Wet Chemistry, you will perform and oversee chemical analyses of air, water, and soil samples in an environmental testing laboratory. Your role includes instrument maintenance, data documentation, and adherence to safety protocols. You will work in a lab and office environment contributing to scientific efforts that promote community health and safety.

Join us as a Scientist I, where you'll put your love of science to work performing and overseeing projects within the wet chemistry department of our environmental testing laboratory.

What you'll do

• Facilitate and support the analysis, administration and oversight of air, water and soil samples using standard chemistry/ biochemistry policies, programs, and practices
• Clean, maintain and calibrate instruments
• Maintain detailed and organized documentation on all laboratory work

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Chemistry credit hours with labs required
• Ability to perform work in a lab or office setting, remain standing for long periods while conducting tests, work around strong smells, and wear personal protective equipment while handling samples (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses and gloves; all PPE provided by Pace®).

Mobility to work in a lab and office setting, use standard office and lab equipment and stamina to stand for extended periods of time; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.

Working Environment

Work is performed in a lab and office setting. Work is subject to chemicals, fumes, gasses, noxious odors, and related items in a lab setting.
