Financial Analyst | Jenison, MI

Salary Range: $67,000 - $100,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze production costs, variances, and profitability drivers for manufacturing operations.
• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, including actual vs. budget performance and key manufacturing KPIs.
• Conduct in-depth variance analysis on COGS, labor, and overhead, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
• Evaluate capital expenditure projects, performing ROI and payback period analysis for new equipment and expansions.
• Support inventory valuation, obsolescence analysis, and cost accounting functions specific to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with operations teams to understand cost drivers and optimize production efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing KPIs.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Ability to analyze complex operational and financial data to drive business insights.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle) in a manufacturing context.
• Demonstrated understanding of cost accounting principles and variance analysis in a production environment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs (e.g., OEE, yield, scrap rates) and their financial impact.
• Exposure to Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for operational and financial reporting.
