POSITION SUMMARY
Vertiv is seeking an embedded Firmware Engineer to work with a team in developing, supporting, testing and managing application firmware, which is used to control and monitor complex HVAC products, over its entire life cycle. This person will have a deep knowledge of controls firmware and will provide technical expertise to develop, test, troubleshoot, and support embedded firmware applications and infrastructure. HVAC and or chiller specific knowledge is highly desired. A bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent engineering experience as a controls firmware engineer is required. Other engineering degrees with emphasis on controls will be considered.
This position will be based onsite at our Westerville, OH location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design controls applications based on defined requirements and specifications
Work as part of a team in a global, multicultural environment
Full lifecycle firmware application development: Design, programming, debugging, peer review, unit testing, performance tuning, integration
Troubleshoot issues with already existing systems
Product testing and customer witness testing support
Technical writing including commenting code and changes, user guides, and service guides
Comply with the company safety procedures. Live the company culture of integrity and professional competence
Provide timely and detailed status updates
Ensure high quality standards are maintained in a highly regulated, process driven environment
Other tasks and activities as required by management
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent with strong emphasis on software: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
2+ years of experience with embedded controls firmware development and testing
Knowledge of basic programming languages (PLC, Structured Text, C/C++, JavaScript, HTML, Python, Bash Shell)
HVAC and chiller specific knowledge is highly desired
Fluency in English
