Base pay range $23.00/hr - $25.00/hr Job Title: Florist & Events Specialist Location: Southside Blooms – Chicago, IL Job Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience) About Us Southside Blooms is a farm-to-vase florist that transforms vacant lots into sustainable urban flower farms, providing employment for at-risk youth while creating stunning floral arrangements. As a social enterprise of the nonprofit Chicago Eco House, we’re passionate about using flowers to create lasting community change. We are looking for a talented and experienced Florist and Events Specialist to join our growing team. If you’re passionate about floral design, event styling, and making a difference in your community, we’d love to hear from you! Key Responsibilities Design and create fresh floral arrangements for daily orders, weddings, and events Consult with clients to plan and execute floral designs for weddings, corporate events, and special occasions Oversee the execution and setup of floral décor at event venues Manage inventory of flowers, supplies, and tools Ensure quality control and freshness of flowers from farm to arrangement Collaborate with youth apprentices to mentor and teach floral design skills Maintain a clean and organized floral workspace Support marketing efforts through content creation (e.g., floral photography, social media contributions) Coordinate with the farm team for flower sourcing and seasonal availability Provide excellent customer service and build strong client relationships Qualifications Minimum 2 years of professional floral design experience (required) Strong portfolio of past floral design work Experience with event setup and floral installations Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and in a team setting Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about floral trends Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods Valid driver’s license preferred What We Offer Competitive hourly rate: $23.00 – $25.00/hour Full-time schedule with opportunities for overtime during peak seasons Mission-driven work environment with real community impact Opportunities for growth and creative input Employee discounts on floral products and services To Apply Please submit your resume and cover letter.
