Job Description
The
Global Security Operations Monitor will be a member of the team that staffs 24/7 operation of our GSOC. The Global Security Operation Monitor will ensure safety and security of the organization's employees, facilities, and operations worldwide and functions as the first responder/dispatcher when the GSOC receives emergency calls or alerts. The Global Security Operation Monitor collects, analyzes, and summarizes incident and activity data reported by personnel to the GSOC during their shift.
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 9pm to 5am
Rate: competitive rate of pay + shift diff pay
Location: Richmond, VA Headquarters (not remote)
Responsibilities: - Constant monitoring of communications dashboard for incoming alerts, incident reports, or SOS calls
- Serve as a dispatch center for overseas security incidents, including real-time monitoring, and personnel tracking.
- Respond to incoming security concerns and local incidents, as well as track outcomes of the requests.
- Monitor online open sources and media channels for potential and known threats.
- Actively monitor a wide network of security tools to identify and resolve threats globally.
- Maintain comprehensive records of security-related incidents; analyze information and craft shift summaries documenting events, anomalies, or significant trends/changes.
- Available to work additional shifts including weekends, as needed.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree with emphasis in international studies, communications, or security, preferred
- Experience in geopolitical and trend analysis and global threat analysis, preferred
- Previous experience working in a security operations center or emergency dispatch, preferred
- Broad geopolitical awareness, knowledge of global events, and cultural sensitivity.
- Familiarity with news reporting sources, social media channels, as well as other channels for real-time monitoring of current events.
- Robust understanding of internet search engines, mapping tools, and social media for research and analysis
- Confidence in issuing rapid correspondence, incident overviews, and detailed assessments
- Ability to prioritize workload based on urgency in a demanding environment
- Strong computing tech skills, Microsoft Office, robust writing and typing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Some experience in conducting research/analysis.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, at times stressed work environment.
- Comfortable with high-tech work environment, and constant learning of new tools and innovations.
