**Herbalist (Retail Environment)**
at Medly Pharmacy Manhattan, NY As a Practitioner, you are the face of Medlys mission and our commitment to the well-being of our patients. We rely on our Practitioners to share their knowledge and experience with our customers and to support them in making educated health and wellness purchases, prescribed to the clients individual needs. Sales skills are important to succeed in this role and having the ability to connect with a wide variety of audiences is essential.
What Youll Do:
* Ensure customers feel welcome and understood by delivering a best-in-class health and wellness shopping experience by: helping them finding the product(s) they are looking for; recommending (not diagnosing or prescribing) the best product(s) and solutions that meet their specific health needs/goals; making sure customers are aware of special events and promotions; educating customers about Medlys product and service offerings (including prescription services); checking customers out and signing them up for our marketing programs; and retrieving orders for our buy online pickup in-store (BOPIS) customers.
* Collaborate with other team members to ensure the customer is connected to the most appropriate and available resource in the store, including the Pharmacist or another practitioner or retail staff member.
* Maintain a beautiful and clean store experience for our customers by: arranging stock according to merchandising plans and standards; updating pricing tags and swapping out / setting up new marketing signage as required; and ensuring store is consistently kept clean, including shelves, floors, fixtures, restrooms and trash.
* Ensure inventory is properly stored, rotated and sold to prevent returns or markdowns.
* Unpack merchandise, places merchandise on shelves, and breaks down boxes.
* Ensure store supplies are always kept in stock (eg, receipt paper, cleaning supplies).
What Youll Need:
* Experience in retail and sales with a demonstrated history of exceeding sales goals
* Completed certification and demonstrated experience in area of expertise (i.e. herbal medicine, homeopathy, naturopathic medicine, nutrition, traditional Chinese medicine, etc.). Submission of certificate or other credentials will be required
* Solid understanding of nutritional supplement and botanical medicine uses, dosage and contraindications, preparations and standards of measurement.
* Ability to collaborate with our traditional pharmacy
* Confidence in speaking with customers while staying within DSHEA Guidelines
* Experience operating a point-of-sale system
* Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for some evenings and weekends
