Job Description

LaSalle Network is hiring on behalf of a non-profit based in Oak Lawn, IL seeking a Human Resources Manager . This organization is dedicated to empowering minority communities through access to essential social services, education, and advocacy programs. As they continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and people-centered Human Resources Manager to help build and sustain an inclusive and effective workplace.

The Human Resources Manager will be a key member of the leadership team responsible for managing the full scope of human resources functions, with a focus on talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and leadership development.



Human Resources Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts for programmatic, administrative, and leadership roles

  • Develop and maintain inclusive job descriptions and hiring practices

  • Design and deliver a structured onboarding process to ensure new hires are welcomed and equipped for success

  • Serve as a confidential point of contact for employee concerns and conflict resolution

  • Advise managers on performance issues, coaching, and progressive discipline

  • Conduct employee engagement surveys and recommend actionable improvements

  • Manage annual open enrollment, benefits vendor relationships, and employee benefits communications

  • Oversee HR compliance with state and federal employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.)

  • Maintain HR records, employee files, and HRIS data integrity

  • Assess training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities



Human Resources Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's or HR certification a plus)

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven setting

  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices

  • Proven ability to navigate sensitive employee issues with empathy and discretion

  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace

  • Experience supporting leadership development or coaching managers is strongly preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
