Job Description

Transform Young Minds into Extraordinary Leaders - Join Alpha Schools in Austin, TX

Imagine a world where 8-year-olds confidently pitch business ideas to venture capitalists, and 10-year-olds deliver TED-style talks that leave adults in awe. At Alpha Schools, we're not just imagining it - we're making it happen. And we need your creative genius to take it to the next level.

In this role, you'll harness cutting-edge AI to craft mind-blowing workshops, pilot your creations with real students, and collaborate with a team of education revolutionaries. You'll blend elements of curriculum development and instructional design, focusing on practical life skills rather than academic subjects. With greater autonomy and emphasis on innovation, you'll leverage technology and data-driven iteration to continuously refine and improve your designs.

If you're ready to shape the future of education and empower K-8 students with essential life skills, apply now and join Alpha in reimagining learning!

What you will be doing

  • Design and develop groundbreaking life skills curriculum for K-8 students, focusing on public speaking, storytelling, entrepreneurship, and financial acumen
  • Create and implement robust assessment systems using standardized methodologies to measure skill development and mastery
  • Lead workshop pilots with real students, conducting thorough observations and gathering comprehensive feedback for continuous improvement
  • Drive innovation through research-based best practices and emerging educational trends
  • Partner with facilitators to ensure consistent workshop excellence and achievement of learning objectives

What you will NOT be doing

  • Creating superficial edutainment that prioritizes fun over measurable skill development
  • Implementing conventional age-restricted learning approaches that limit student potential
  • Developing theoretical content disconnected from real-world applications
  • Producing passive learning experiences or lecture-based materials
  • Focusing on traditional academic metrics instead of practical skill mastery

Key Responsibilities

Create transformative learning experiences that empower K-8 students to master advanced life skills, consistently exceeding expectations and delivering measurable results that amaze parents and inspire confidence in young learners.

Candidate Requirements

  • On-site presence at Alpha's Austin campus (non-negotiable)
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Minimum 1 year experience creating educational content, workshops, or training programs
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze qualitative student/participant feedback
  • Advanced proficiency with Gen AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity) for autonomous project execution
  • Authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship

This position is also known as:

  • Learning Experience Designer
  • Curriculum Developer
  • Learning And Development Specialist
  • Training and Development Specialist
  • Curriculum Writer
  • Curriculum Designer
