As an Insurance Assistant, you will play a vital role by delivering essential administrative and servicing support. You will follow established billing procedures for agency-billed accounts, meticulously tracking Accounts Receivables and reporting on them. You will also be responsible for setting up policies for delivery to clients, filing claims with carriers and conducting appropriate follow-ups, along with submitting endorsements to carriers and managing timely invoicing. In addition to these tasks, you will assist in the sale and service of new and renewal business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use accounting system for daily reports, processing endorsements, invoicing of customers, and posting of payments.
  • Follow established billing procedure and track Accounts Receivables.
  • Policy set up for delivery to clients.
  • Filing and scanning of documents.
  • Filing claims with carriers and follow up to ensure processing.
  • Answers phones, assists walk-in customers, and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years professional office experience
  • Insurance license required within 12 months of hire in personal lines and/or health insurance
  • Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail required
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and programs with working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously, meet deadlines, and show flexibility to change direction when needed
  • Team-oriented and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization
  • Service-oriented, polite, and respectful
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to take direction and instruction and follow through independently until project completion

HOURS:

Regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
