LANDSCAPE MANAGER

Department: Grounds Department

Reports To: Assistant Superintendent, Director of Agronomy

Supervises: Grounds Persons

Classification: Full Time, Year Round

Job Summary (Essential Functions): Oversee the daily course and clubhouse landscape and inspect conditions.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations:
  • Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds, landscaped area maintenance work, and building maintenance and improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and performs ongoing landscape maintenance activities including but not limited to clubhouse, snack bars, cottages, and sports complex.
  • Responsible for ordering and installing over 2000 annuals
  • Responsible for coordinating multiple plantings and clean up as the seasons dictate
  • Perform duties including, but not limited to, watering, fertilization, and application of pesticides to plant material as warranted by environmental conditions.
  • Ensures all plantings are properly watered, fertilized, and cared for to promote healthy growth and prevent problems.

  • Conduct regular inspections of landscaped areas
  • Trains personnel in ongoing course landscaping
  • Performs safety orientation and ongoing safety training for all landscaping
  • Ensures compliance with all Grounds Department and club policies, standards, and
  • Works with the Director of Agronomy to implement capital improvement projects around the clubhouse.
  • Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Director of Agronomy
Experience
  • Three years of experience in the maintenance, operation or management in a similar roll
Education
  • Undergraduate college study in horticulture or related
Licenses and Special Requirements
  • Pesticide Applicator's certificate, ability to obtain within 90days of employment
  • Valid driver's license
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat
  • Able to meet and perform the physical requirements of the job and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping
  • Must be able to lift 75

  • Must be able to follow written and verbal

General Information

Scheduled Shifts: Full-time, year-round position. Days and hours are based on club operations and weather conditions. Regularly works 45+ hours per week.

Wage: Competitive wage, based on experience.
