POSITION OVERVIEW Kate Farms is in search of a mindful legal assistant to work in the Company's legal group based in Waltham, Massachusetts. This position will be a key contributor to our legal team, working directly and closely with others in the legal group while collaborating with other departments throughout the Company on a wide range of issues. The selected individual must love to work collaboratively and independently and be highly organized and self-motivated. This is an ideal position for someone looking to break into the legal field, and / or is considering becoming a paralegal. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Manage and respond to in-coming legal and contract requests.
- Implement and develop legal department procedures.
- Act as executive assistant to General Counsel, provide general support to our legal team, and perform other general administrative tasks.
- Assist with the Company's contract function, including managing the contract management system and process, and preparing, reviewing, and processing contracts as needed.
- Create presentations and communications for the legal team.
- Perform other day-to-day tasks as needed.
- Contribute to the success of the legal team and Kate Farms and support our company's mission.

- An undergraduate degree.
- 1 to 4 years of relevant legal department experience (ideally in the life sciences).
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Top notch grammar, proofreading skills, and superb time management are a must for this position.
- Demonstrated technology skills with the ability to learn new systems.
- An ability to successfully manage competing priorities on a wide range of issues and projects, while delivering quality work.
- Experience with Legal Tracker, HighQ, DocuSign, and Carta a plus.
- A desire to organize and a desire to learn.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary plus a variable component that together comprise the On-Target-Earnings (OTE). Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of equity.
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. This range represents the lowest to highest salary range we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of background verification.
$26.00 - $34.00 per hour USD
For full-time salaried or hourly workers, our total rewards package also include the option to enroll in a company-matched 401k plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Employees will also receive a generous PTO benefit with a starting accrual of 15 days per year (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure), two weeks of paid "Refresh" leave, 80 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
