Job Description:

Supplemental Health Care has partnered with a school district to hire a health office nurse to work in Houston, Texas. As a school professional with SHC, you’ll be supported by our Schools Center of Excellence, a dedicated team of recruiters and employment professionals who understand schools and your unique needs as a School-based LVN. School LVN Contract Details: -$30 – $32.50 an hour -Licensed Vocational Nurse needed for the remaining 2024-25 school year to start ASAP through 5/30/25.

  • Position is for 40 hours a week. LVN is needed to float between 2 – 1:1 student needs when the nurse assigned is absent.
  • LVN will work in a School Clinic when not covering a 1:1 student.
  • Shift times vary depending on campus assigned.
  • Elementary School 8:05am-3:25pm, Middle School 9:05am-4:25pm or High School 7:10am – 2:30pm.
  • The LVN may be needed to provide bus transport when covering 1:1.
    -Schedule follows the school district calendar
    Duties will include but are not limited to:
    -Providing healthcare to students with acute or chronic health problems
    -Conduct screenings and write referrals for health services
    -Maintaining Student Records while complying with state and federal screenings
    -Promoting education and wellness initiatives

Requirements:

  • Texas LVN License
    -American Heart Association BLS
    -Minimum of 1 year of prior nursing experience in a school or pediatric setting
    -The LVN must be highly skilled with a wide range of experience including experience in pediatric trach, vent, g-tube, suctioning, working with wheelchair bound patients and total care.
