Job Title: Logistics Supervisor

Reports To: Logistics Manager

Position Type: Full-Time -2nd shift

Job Summary:

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of the logistics team to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of goods and services. This role involves managing staff, optimizing supply chain operations, and maintaining excellent relationships with vendors and clients. The Logistics Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management:
    • Supervise and lead a team of logistics personnel, including drivers, warehouse staff, and clerks.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities.
    • Manage schedules, assign tasks, and resolve any personnel issues.
  2. Operational Oversight:
    • Oversee daily logistics operations, including inventory management, transportation, and warehousing.
    • Develop and implement efficient logistics processes and procedures to enhance operational performance.
    • Monitor and manage the flow of goods to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  3. Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage and track shipments.
    • Analyze supply chain data to identify and address potential issues or areas for improvement.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure all logistics operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce adherence to safety protocols.
    • Stay informed about industry regulations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  5. Customer Service:
    • Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues related to logistics and delivery.
    • Maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors to foster positive business interactions.
    • Provide regular updates to customers regarding the status of their shipments.
  6. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, including key metrics and financial data.
    • Analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for process improvement.
    • Implement strategies based on data analysis to enhance overall logistics efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge:
    • In-depth understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
    • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Knowledge of inventory management systems and best practices.
