Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade all technical equipment as required and as designated by the operations manager; and
  • Troubleshoot systems, repair components, and assist in maintenance of inventory & recordkeeping of system and spares

Representative Tasks:

  • Analyze and troubleshoot to component level all simulation and technical equipment and peripherals
  • Provide accurate records for all work performed on equipment and history of failures
  • Install, test, and verify all hardware/software modifications or upgrades for simulator and peripherals
  • Perform and maintain records for preventive maintenance to all equipment
  • Assist in research, acquisition, and inventory of pertinent simulation and technical equipment
  • Perform daily initialization, shutdown, and inspection of pertinent simulation and technical equipment
  • Perform daily adjustment of projection system presentation
  • Respond promptly to all customer (and potential customer) requests, concerns, and inquiries
  • Travel to and attend training technical seminars and training as required
  • Support of and participation in all Fiduciary, Budget and Cost Avoidance Programs
  • Support and carryout all duties in accordance with organization’s Quality Management System
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Functions: Physical Agility

  • Ability to work in a cool environment
  • Ability to talk, hear, walk; use hands to handle, or feel, and reach with arms or hands
  • Ability to manipulate awkward positions to access various pieces of electronic equipment
  • Ability to climb ladders up to twenty (20) feet in height
  • Able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus and light levels
  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time (2-3 hrs)
  • Ability to climb stairs to simulators, stand and move around simulators and classrooms for periods up to 2 hours
  • Ability to do computer input with or without reasonable accommodation

Essential Functions: Attendance Requirement

  • 40 hours per week on campus, varied shift schedule based on number of qualified staff and operational needs
  • Overtime, evening, weekend, and holiday work required
  • Must be able to travel to conferences training seminars

Minimum Requirements: Education

  • High school diploma required
  • Graduate of a 2-year accredited college program leading to an Associate of Science or Arts degree or certification from a technical school

Minimum Requirements: Experience

  • Three years related experience in electronic equipment maintenance with exposure to computer systems

Minimum Requirements: Special Skills

  • Ability to deduce applicable electronic formulas and theories for troubleshooting purposes
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to analyze entire simulation system and isolate possible faults within a limited time frame
  • Proficiency with personal computer usage and standard office automation is desired – Microsoft Office 2003
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Provide overall management of own responsibilities
  • Highly interpersonally skilled to deal with all levels of the organization
  • Routinely deal with all levels of personnel from outside vendors providing hardware/software and services
