LPN OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY NURSE

Overview:

The Occupational Health & Safety Nurse at Boar's Head Provisions ensures responsive medical support for employees in accordance with company policies. This role involves managing medical case management for worker compensation cases, maintaining employee medical records, providing initial patient care and follow-up, and ensuring regulatory compliance for employee health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain employee medical records as required by EHS.
• Provide initial patient care and follow-up for employee injuries.
• Manage all employee injuries, from minor to serious.
• Conduct drug and alcohol screens.
• Perform required employee testing to meet regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with insurance companies and manage worker compensation claims.
• Order and maintain medical supplies for the department.
• Promote a positive health environment through various employee engagement activities.
• Maintain the OSHA 300 log of injuries and illnesses.
• Stay updated on occupational nursing practices.
• Conduct health and safety training.
• Properly manage and dispose of outdated medical supplies and waste.
• Write and manage purchase orders through Oracle.
• Ensure health assessments, testing, and incident investigations are documented in the EHS Enterprise system.
• Communicate with healthcare providers regarding employee treatment for work-related injuries.
• Conduct facility safety inspections and job assignment observations for compliance.
• Participate in team-building activities in the production area.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of occupational nursing experience preferred
• LPN License required
• Experience managing workers compensation cases required
• Experience in a plant or manufacturing environment a plus

• Experience administering drug tests a plus

Location: Jarratt, VA

Salary Range: $25-$27/hr commensurate with experience

Shift: 7am-3pm (M-F) with a rotating Saturday shift (12 hour shift)
