Overview This position will provide on-site Oracle Database Administrator services for a DOD client.
Responsibilities - Day-to-day maintenance/monitoring of Oracle databases in various environments (i.e., Dev, Test, Acceptance and Production).
- Meeting with App Admins and Developers to support database sizing, performance and organizing to support the application.
- Shell scripting/automation of routine tasks.
- ETL data coming in from external sources.
- Support Oracle Data Guard databases to make sure standby database is current.
- Knowledge of Oracle Grid Control to automate jobs.
- Create materialized views to support applications.
- Promote code from DEV/TEST to Acceptance to Production environments and finding any bugs.
- Apply oracle patches.
- Troubleshoot performance issues as they arise.
- Backup Databases using RMAN and CommonVault.
- Restore databases via RMAN and or NetApp Snapshots.
Qualifications - General Experience: Preference for experience in the management, maintenance, and sustainment of an Oracle version 12c or greater database environments. Preference for experience including hands-on administration of Oracle databases in a production environment.
- Specialized Experience: Certifications in CompTIA Security+ (or government approved IT Security Certification e.g. CISSP) and Oracle Certified Associate (or above). Experience and knowledge in Data Guard, and/or Replication is also preferred. Demonstrate mastery in at least two of the following areas: Database backup and recovery (including the use of RMAN), SQL/PLSQL tuning and optimization, Data replication and Database security.
- Required to be U.S. citizen and must be able to maintain Secret clearance eligibility.
- BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution.
