Reports to: Park Operations Manager

Job Summary:

 

The  Floater Coordinator is a dynamic leadership role that provides cross-functional support across departments -  Guest Services, Groups & Parties, Restaurant, and Training. This position exists to help fill leadership gaps, manage peak flow, and ensure smooth day-to-day park operations wherever the need is greatest.

What You’ll Do:

Operational Support

  • Serve as a coordinator - level leader for any department requiring additional support during busy shifts, special events, or absences.
  • Step into the roles of Guest Services, Party & Events, Restaurant, or Training Coordinator as needed to maintain operational consistency.
  • Assist with supervising team members, managing breaks, and ensuring adequate staffing coverage throughout the day.

Guest Experience & Park Floor Oversight

  • Act as a floor leader during assigned shifts, responding to guest concerns, ride support calls, or escalated service issues.
  • Greet and interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner across all park areas, including front desk, party rooms, restaurant, and attractions.
  • Uphold the highest standards of customer service, contributing to a positive and welcoming guest experience.

Training

  • Assist in training new team members by reinforcing Malibu Jack’s standards for service, safety, and performance.
  • Support the Training Coordinator in executing department-specific checklists and providing real-time coaching.
  • Observe and provide feedback to team members across departments to reinforce consistency and guest service excellence.

Group & Parties

  • Oversee the set-up and tear-down of the party area before and after each event, ensuring the space is ready and safe for each group.
  • Provide guests with information regarding group bookings, events, and parties. Address any questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Handle money transactions and ensure the party desk area remains clean, organized, and welcoming.

Administrative & Operational Duties

  • Complete shift reports, submit time-sensitive forms or invoices, and maintain daily logs when covering coordinator positions.
  • Conduct inventory counts or assist with ordering as directed by department leads.
  • Open and close the park as scheduled, ensuring proper cash handling and security protocols are followed.


Additional Responsibilities: Take on any other tasks as needed, including being available for special projects or holiday events.

  • Guest-first attitude and ability to resolve issues with professionalism
  • Working knowledge of food safety, party/events, customer service, and training practices (or willingness to learn)
  • Calm, organized, and composed under pressure

Education, Qualification, Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or  GED required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in guest services, hospitality, or a similar customer-facing role is preferred.
  • Basic math skills  for inventory management and financial transactions.
  • Available  evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willing and eager to rotate between departments based on business needs.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs unaided.
  • Ability to move around the facility and assist guests in various areas.
