Our client, a leader in renewable energy engineering, is seeking a Senior Plant Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Plant Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Plant Controls Engineering department supporting the SCADA and Plant Controls team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a high attention to detail, and a proactive mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Senior Plant Controls Engineer
Location: Austin, TX
Lead SCADA design, configuration, and commissioning for utility-scale renewable energy projects while mentoring junior engineers.
Coordinate across engineering disciplines and project managers to ensure technical and timeline requirements are met.
Oversee contractor work, generate technical documentation, and ensure compliance with SCADA standards.
Commission substation equipment and plant networks while driving operational performance improvements.
Support strategic goals of the SCADA team by developing new standards and refining internal processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of experience working with control systems and SCADA platforms.
Strong knowledge of network design including VLANs, fiber/ethernet, and switch configuration.
Experience with RTU/plant controller configuration and development of technical documentation.
Proven success leading commissioning and oversight of technical contractors.
