Job Description


Physicians' Clinic of Iowa is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to work in collaboration with the Purchasing Coordinator to complete daily purchase orders, receive delivery of ordered goods, and assist in acquiring products from vendors based on clinical and department needs.

This individual will have multiple responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:

  • Cross-reference deliveries with purchase orders upon receiving
  • Communicate with staff to meet supply needs
  • Create purchase orders for supply requests as needed
  • Communicate with vendor reps to obtain supplies and track order status
  • Perform simple price checks across various vendors to ensure best pricing
  • Assist the Purchasing Coordinator and department managers as needed


Requirements:

  • The leading candidate will have knowledge of purchasing policies and practices as well as excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. 
  • Must have the ability to interact professionally with vendors, internal/external customers, and co-workers. 
  • Will also provide assistance to various PCI departments as required.
  • Successful candidate will have strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft office suite with an emphasis on Excel. 
  • Prior experience with a purchasing system platform is preferred.
  • The qualified candidate must demonstrate attention to detail.
