Job Description
In this part-time (20-30 hours/week), non-exempt position, located at our Salt Lake City corporate office, the ideal candidate will assist in creating a first-class experience for our applicants and candidates throughout their onboarding at O.C. Tanner. Key contributions will include organization, streamlining, and overseeing the welcome experience for our newly hired employees.
Responsibilities will include: - Develop and oversee an onboarding experience worthy of the exceptional people who join O.C. Tanner that celebrates, develops, and prepares them for success
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep the hiring and onboarding processes moving forward smoothly while innovating the experience
- Administer and complete action items for onboarding, including initial communication, running day one orientation, ordering swag boxes, facilitating new hire celebrations, and coordination with leaders
- Build solid relationships with hiring managers and leadership teams to serve as a partner before, during, and after the onboarding process
- Act as an employee experience advocate to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for our new employees
- Assist with data entry and reporting in our Application Tracking System
- Answer general questions regarding company policies and procedures related to new hires
- Participate in conversations to increase the efficiency of current processes
- Provide general assistance and support to the People & Great Work team as needed
- Uphold professional standards and strict confidentiality on matters that require discretion
- Represent O.C. Tanner at university career fairs and other networking events
- Assist in sourcing, screening, shortlisting, and recruiting the kind of people who can and will make a difference to our teams at O.C. Tanner
Minimum Qualifications - You know how to make people feel welcomed and excited to start with O.C. Tanner
- Able to work onsite in our Salt Lake City headquarters
- 1 year of administrative or HR experience
- Ability to prioritize and communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external candidates, both verbally and in writing
- Experience with HR best practices, as well as some federal/state/local labor rules and regulations
- Comfortable presenting and leading group discussions
- You're on top of things and pay attention to the details
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems
- Onboarding experience in a remote environment
- Experience with technology tools such as Zoom, WebEx, Outlook, LinkedIn
- Comfortable leading cross-functional standups to gather and deliver communication
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize, and handle multiple tasks, while maintaining flexibility
- Experience working directly with hiring leaders and assisting in onboarding with an understanding of the full life-cycle recruitment process
Work Schedule: - Hybrid Work Policy: In office on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday - Optional Remote on Thursday, Friday
- Full day in-office Monday and occasionally Tuesday for orientation
- Flexible days and hours between Tuesday-Friday
