Job Description

Responsibilities

The Reservoir Engineering Analyst (“Analyst”) will support reserve evaluation and forecasting, and economic analysis of exploration, development, and acquisition opportunities. The Analyst will also manage corporate data, standard reporting, AFE creation and tracking, and support production accounting functions. The position will report directly to the COO and will support the Company’s efforts across a variety of disciplines. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to have a significant role in the growth of an independent E&P company. The successful candidate will be involved with:

  • Supporting the acquisition and divestment process including technical diligence, data management, forecasting, reserves evaluation, economic analysis, cost modeling, gas plant statement analysis, and process improvement
  • Maintaining and improving the Company’s regular reporting, including support of field operations, production tracking, and production accounting.
  • Supporting and administering software and databases
  • Working with an integrated team to prepare production forecasts, operating plans, expenditure forecasts, and evaluate economic models for asset valuations and budget preparation
  • Managing regulatory reporting and compliance

Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Skill in fundamental reservoir engineering principles including decline curve analysis (DCA), rate & pressure transient analysis (RTA/PTA), volumetrics, and recoveries
  • Skill in reserves reporting processes and software (Aries, PHDWin, ComboCurve)
  • Skill in searching and utilizing public data in various analyses (Enverus, Spotfire, etc.)
  • Exposure to Business Development, A&D processes, and corporate growth initiatives
  • Working knowledge of production operations, surveillance, and product marketing
  • Advanced knowledge of databases, data systems, and reporting
  • Highly proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI)

Experience and Education

  • Preferred 2+ years industry experience in technical reservoir engineering or evaluation (investment banking and/or A&D experience preferred)
