Registered Nurse – Clinical Education Specialist Travel Position

Location: Oakland, CA
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 5×8s Days
Pay: $3,002/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Education Specialist Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Oakland, CA on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN Clinical Education Specialist will play a key role in developing, implementing, and evaluating education programs for nursing staff to enhance clinical skills and ensure delivery of high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is experienced in clinical education, passionate about professional development, and skilled at mentoring and guiding nursing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess the educational needs of nursing staff and develop targeted training programs.
• Plan and conduct orientation sessions for new hires and ongoing education for current staff.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders to implement evidence-based practices and improve patient care outcomes.
• Monitor staff competency and provide performance feedback and coaching.
• Facilitate workshops, in-services, and continuing education sessions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of training activities, attendance, and staff progress.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards for education and training.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in California (or compact eligibility).
• Minimum 3–5 years of recent clinical nursing experience, with at least 1–2 years in a clinical education or nurse educator role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Education preferred.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and develop staff in clinical settings.
• COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
