This role offers the opportunity to lead complex transportation projects that shape critical infrastructure and enhance communities. You will manage the full lifecycle of roadway, highway, and interstate design projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. The position involves strategic oversight of project scope, budget, and schedule, while mentoring teams and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations. You will also engage with clients, stakeholders, and the public to communicate project objectives and outcomes. Your contributions directly impact the safety, efficiency, and connectivity of transportation networks, making this a high-visibility and rewarding leadership opportunity.

Accountabilities:

· Lead and manage transportation design projects from concept through construction.

· Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, and quality assurance/quality control processes.

· Collaborate across disciplines to develop turnkey engineering solutions.

· Engage in business development, including proposal creation, networking, and client presentations.

· Represent the organization at public meetings, conferences, and interviews.

· Conduct technical analyses and prepare reports for roadway, signing and marking, signal, drainage, and lighting plans.

· Ensure projects comply with state and local transportation regulations.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

· Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois or the ability to obtain through reciprocity.

· 12+ years of experience in roadway, highway, or interstate design.

· Strong leadership, project management, and team coordination skills.

· Excellent communication and client engagement abilities.

· Experience with state transportation projects and public bidding processes is a plus.

· Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.
