Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Huntsville, AL is seeking a dedicated Counselor on a contractual basis. This role involves providing essential counseling services to students across all grade levels, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual and group counseling sessions tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success
• Assist in developing intervention strategies for students facing academic or personal challenges
• Conduct assessments and maintain confidential student records
• Facilitate crisis intervention as needed and provide referrals to external resources
• Promote a positive school climate that supports mental health and wellness

Qualifications:

• Valid counseling certification or licensure appropriate for K-12 educational settings
• Experience working as a school counselor preferred
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent development
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and school staff
