Setup Technician | Grand Haven, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform equipment changeovers and setups according to production schedules.
• Install and adjust tooling, dies, and fixtures on manufacturing machinery.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and quality checks to ensure product specifications are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic setup-related issues and minor equipment malfunctions.
• Optimize machine settings and parameters for efficient and high-quality production runs.
• Collaborate with production operators and engineers to improve setup processes.
• Maintain accurate setup documentation, logbooks, and equipment records.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for diagnosing equipment issues.
• Familiarity with various tooling types, their application, and basic maintenance.
• Understanding and adherence to manufacturing safety standards and quality control procedures.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with PLC/HMI programming or troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic schematics.
• Experience contributing to preventative maintenance (PM) activities.
