Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia's second-largest public university in area.

JOB SUMMARY:Sports Information Director The Sports Information Director (SID) is a full-time, 12-month position. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the SID is responsible for oversight of a comprehensive public relations program and serving as the primary media contact for the University's 12 NCAA Division II sports. The position will oversee distribution of all department related news releases, game statistics reporting, production of department publications, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in sports management, communications, or related field. Three years of experience in sports information. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in a related field.
