Staff Firmware Engineer

Location : Colorado Springs (onsite)

Skills : Python or C/C++, debugging, lab experience

Comp : Base 150-180k + bonus + stocks - total package up to $400k!

What You Will Be Doing

• Design and execute validation tools and processes to ensure integrated circuit products meet industry standards and perform reliably across pre- and post-silicon phases.
• Create, review, and execute comprehensive validation test plans on emulation platforms and prototype silicon.
• Develop embedded firmware and host software tools in C/C++ for low-level system validation.
• Write test scripts to control protocol exercisers and automate validation tools and lab equipment.
• Collaborate with software, FPGA emulation, and IC design teams during the validation lifecycle.
• Support board development efforts for validation and reference designs.
• Lead system-level debugging and propose innovative solutions to complex technical issues.
• Assist external customers with initial silicon bring-up and system integration.
• Communicate technical details effectively to engineering teams and train field engineers on new product features.
• Contribute to technical documentation including engineering notes, data sheets, and architecture manuals.

What You Need For The Position

Either experience as a Validation Engineer OR a Firmware Engineer looking to move into IC Validation.  Skills should include:

• Experience developing/debugging low level code

• Proficiency with Python, C, C++ prefered (or any other language for low level code)

• Experience debugging on real hardware

• Solid understanding of computer architecture and system level operation/execution

• Hands on lab experience
