About the Role:

The Staff Pharmacist in the Pharmacy Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients. This position is responsible for overseeing the dispensing of prescriptions, providing medication counseling, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. The Staff Pharmacist will also be involved in managing pharmacy operations, including inventory control and compliance with regulatory standards. By educating patients about their medications and potential side effects, the pharmacist contributes to improved health outcomes. Ultimately, this role is vital in promoting the overall well-being of the community through responsible medication management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Current state pharmacist license in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting.
  • Board certification in a pharmacy specialty (e.g., BCPS, BCOP).

Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide medication therapy management and counseling to patients, addressing their questions and concerns regarding their prescriptions.

  • Monitor patient medication regimens for safety and efficacy, making necessary adjustments in consultation with the healthcare team.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and ensuring the proper storage of medications.
