Job Purpose

Drive the development of accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations for equipment and tooling investments, supporting strategic decision-making and project success across Production Engineering.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead cost estimation efforts for assigned projects by clarifying scope, interpreting maker layouts, and delivering detailed investment cost reports and quotations.
• Monitor and analyze cost performance by comparing planned versus actual expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with project teams to drive the development and consolidation of projected spend timelines.
• Enhance estimation processes and tools to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in producing cost reports and quotations.
• Maintain and enhance historical cost databases and indexes, incorporating reference materials to support the generation and validation of future cost estimates.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting/finance, engineering technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cost estimation or related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other data analysis/presentation tools.  Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel with experience using lookup and referencing, logic, and text formulas, and pivot tables.

Working Conditions

• Minimal travel (<10%) as needed to fulfil role, typically to Honda sites.   Overtime as necessary to complete job function.
• Occasional visits to observe or support plant operations, requiring being comfortable on plant floor and other production areas.
