Description
The Technical Writer writes a variety of technical articles, reports, studies, and/or training manuals for a wide range of uses. Responsible for ensuring that documentation and documentation methodology for the assigned directorate complies with company policy and procedures.
- Create blueprints, diagram and/or illustrations to effectively communicate and/or depict concepts, idea, or theory.
- Writes highly technical studies based on analysis of information, data, and other documentation.
- Prepares and/or maintains documentation pertaining to general correspondence, training documents and products, contract proposals, and contract deliverables.
- Plans, writes, and maintains training systems and training products using training specifications and managerial guidance.
- Create documentation methodology, framework, and flow diagrams.
- Create and write a Training Situation Analysis and a Training Situation Requirements Analysis to standard using appropriate DIDs, client directives and managerial guidance.
- Write effective contract proposals using managerial guidance, DIDs and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs).
- Perform quality control of all contract and training products regarding clarity, concision, and grammar.
- Assemble contract and training products for delivery.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, or other closely related field.
- Two (2) years of direct experience as a Technical Writer in a corporate environment.
OR - Six (6) years' experience as a technical writer in a professional office.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities : - Working knowledge of the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process.
- Experience as a technical writer for a defense contracting company.
- Experience as a technical writer in the aviation industry.
- Working knowledge of the concurrency management process.
