Job Title: Title Clerk

Responsibilities:

• Process all new and used vehicles for registration in the state they will be titled.
• Prepare tax and title documents accurately and efficiently.
• Submit all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Verify funds and ensure correct lienholder payments before processing title applications.
• Check for accuracy and completeness of application information.
• Bill out dealer trades and prepare Certificates of Origin.
• Maintain a system to verify out-of-state titles.
• Compile and maintain a complete list of outstanding title work, reporting status to management.
• Sign over titles for wholesalers who have paid in full and prepare monthly reports on outstanding funds.
• Post vehicle sales and purchases accurately.
• Process yearly renewal of dealer tags in collaboration with the comptroller.
• Stay updated on title regulations by attending seminars and training sessions.
• Maintain a professional appearance and a tidy work area.

Requirements:

• Previous automotive dealership accounting experience required.
• Working knowledge of title processes.
• Outstanding experience in dealership title work.
• Dealertrack and DLRDMV experience preferred.
• Familiarity with various DMV portals.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Notary Public required.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency with standard computer software and accounting software.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
