Trades Assistant THESE JOBS ARE IMMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE AND HAVE FULL FUNDING. LOOKING FOR IMMEDIATE HIRES. Purpose: - Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for multiple Trades Assistants who will assist workers in the skilled maintenance trades. Skilled maintenance trades may include Electrician, Welding, Pipefitting, Brazing, Universal A/C&R Mechanic or, Riggers, sheet metal workers and painters/specialized coating applicators.
- This position is in Silverdale, WA.
Job Description: - Assist workers in the skilled maintenance trades such as cable pulling, electrical connection box wiring, cable way management, paint, lagging, grinding, and cutting.
- Perform specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as cleaning working area, machine, and equipment; and performing other unskilled tasks as directed. Tasks vary.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs to various electrical equipment and machines under supervision.
- Assist in receipt and inventory of material, tools, and equipment.
- Position may require ability to perform specialized machine operations.
Qualifications: - Must have a High School diploma 0 years of experience in the field is required.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
- Must have experience with basic hand tools.
Desired Qualifications: - Knowledge and experience in shipyard operations and NAVSEA standards, preferred.
- Trade School, preferred.
- Able to obtain a passport, preferred.
Security Requirements: - Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to private/public shipyards and Naval installations.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to maintain a Driver's license.
Travel Requirements: - Up to 50% travel nationwide to include international travel as needed.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. (More information regarding REAL ID can be found: )
Physical Requirements: - Position requires candidate to regularly lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 20 lbs.
- Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
- Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.
- May ride ships at sea for extended periods.
- May require wearing a respirator.
