Step into a critical support role within one of the hospital's busiest surgical departments. As an Anesthesia Technician, you'll work hands-on with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, residents, and technologists across advanced surgical specialties—including cardiac, vascular, transplant, thoracic, trauma, and more. Your work will directly impact patient safety and surgical success every single day.

🔧 What You'll Be Doing
👩‍⚕️ 20% — Direct Assistance in Anesthesia Care

Prepare anesthesia equipment before patient arrival

Place anesthesia monitors and ensure equipment cleanliness

Ensure specialized equipment, supplies, and medications are ready

Support difficult intubations and central line placements

Communicate continuously with anesthesia providers to meet real-time needs

🩸 20% — Advanced Surgical Case Support

Operate the cell-saver machine

Track lab results during complex procedures

Participate in cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, and trauma surgeries

Collaborate with specialty service chiefs

Provide on-call support

🛠️ 20% — Equipment Oversight & Troubleshooting

Perform preventive maintenance, testing, and equipment checks

Operate sophisticated anesthesia equipment

Troubleshoot advanced technical issues

Serve as key resource for specialized device operations

📘 15% — Education & Training Support

Assist the Chief Anesthesia Technologist with in-service training programs

Help train new staff on anesthesia technology responsibilities

⚙️ 15% — Technical Set-Up & Device Management

Set up and test infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, monitors, and bronchoscopes

Calibrate anesthesia machines

Ensure video and fiberoptic equipment readiness

🏥 5% — OR Turnover & Out-of-OR Support

Set up rooms between cases and manage carts throughout the day

Support anesthesia needs for out-of-OR procedures

Collaborate with multiple hospital units to ensure equipment availability

📋 5% — Leadership Support

Provide backup coverage to the Shift Supervisor

Perform additional duties as assigned

⭐ Required Qualifications

BLS (AHA preferred)

Minimum 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician

💎 Preferred Qualifications

Four-year degree with relevant technical training

OR a two-year degree with technical concentration + 2 years experience

National Anesthesia Technologist Certification (ASATT or similar)

Strong technical and communication skills

Highly desired: 2+ years of experience

Strong team communication

Technical troubleshooting ability

Adaptable, reliable, and able to perform in high-acuity environments
