Job Details

• Position Overview: Performs imaging and Doppler ultrasound examinations on the heart and surrounding anatomy by means of two-dimensional imaging and three-dimensional imaging.
• Provides Doppler and color flow Doppler and M-mode techniques as indicated for patient records, storing pertinent data on the echo lab server.
• Assists cardiologist by operating the echo machine during transesophageal (TEE) studies.
• Performs ultrasound examination component of stress echo.
• May work in any or all of three settings: hospital, clinic, outreach (mobile).
• The Cardiac Sonographer is available for 24-hour call with a 30-minute response time required.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served in his/her assigned department.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of one-year experience in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography including experience with transesophageal and stress echo, preferred.
• Must have knowledge of pathology, diagnostic procedures, and patient care procedures.
• Experience with mobile service operations helpful.

• Proven ability to work with co-workers, physicians, and all levels of health care professionals.
