Cat Scan Technologist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Monday - Friday, with every other weekend and holidays as needed. On-call required.

Job Description

The Cat Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex CT procedures and utilizes professional judgment when reviewing and obtaining patient clinical histories.


• Prepares, screens, and reviews the accuracy of contrast questionnaires and documents them into the system.


• Identifies and/or administers contrast media as prescribed by licensed practitioners.


• Reviews patient prescriptions for exam appropriateness and communicates with radiologists and referring physicians as necessary.


• Responsible for verifying insurance authorized exam scripts and obtaining outside studies for proper comparison.


• Provides exam copies to patients and ensuring all information is available for radiologist review.


• Evaluates radiographs using PACS to ensure diagnostic value and proper identification.


• Preps patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization devices.


• Monitors patients for any adverse reactions during procedures and handles any questions or concerns.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of CT experience on Siemens equipment.


• NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.


• ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license required.


• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within three months of hire date.


• Team members must achieve ARRT (CT) certification within the twelve months following their hire date.
