American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Long Beach, California.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN with a current CA license, two years of level III NICU experience, and the flexibility to float to PICU and CTICU as required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Position is in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Night shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Requires floating to PICU and CTICU based on hospital census
  • Weekend coverage is required every other weekend or as needed
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses EPIC for documentation
  • Duties include comprehensive care of critically ill neonates, including advanced procedures and medication management
  • Team members may be assigned modules to complete pre-start, including approximately 8 hours of EPIC training
  • First-time travelers will be considered if they have at least two years of NICU experience
  • Locals are accepted at the local rate
  • RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be requested at the time of application; no RTO will be approved for Black Friday or December 21-23
  • Must adhere to hospital standards for holiday coverage and flexibility
  • Previous staff who were permanently employed by the facility are not eligible

  • Active California RN license in hand required
  • Minimum of 2 years NICU experience required, including Level III NICU
  • Experience in PICU and CTICU required to meet floating requirements
  • BLS and Advanced NRP certifications required
  • Demonstrated skills in phototherapy, tube feed/gavage, blood product administration, PICC and peripheral line management, anti-seizure and caffeine medication administration, vasopressors, neonatal abstinence, phlebotomy, bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilators
  • EPIC experience preferred
  • Minimum of one reference from within the past two years required
  • No prior permanent employment at the facility is allowed
