\n\nTravel Nursing Job Details\n

• Location: Midland, TX 79701 (West Texas healthcare jobs)\n
• Facility: Level II Trauma Center – Peri-Anesthesia Services (PACU & Pre-Op Holding)\n
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)\n
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts per week (12:00 – 20:30)\n
• Hours per Week: 40\n
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,980 - $2,120 per week\n
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics\n
• Unit Size: 21 beds, average daily census of 30\n
• Call: Required\n
• Weekend Coverage: Minimum of 2 weekend shifts per contract\n

\n\nPACU RN Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state; pending license accepted, must be active before start)\n
• Minimum 1 year of PACU or critical care nursing experience required; 2 years preferred\n
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required\n
• Experience with pediatric patients and critical care strongly preferred\n
• Level II trauma nursing experience preferred\n
• Experience recovering Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN surgeries\n
• Proficiency in monitoring and managing patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines\n
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system preferred\n
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)\n

\n\nPACU Nurse Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver safe and effective post-anesthesia care for patients of all ages in the PACU\n
• Monitor and manage patients with complex needs, including nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines\n
• Assist with Pre-Op Holding coverage as needed\n
• Float between Pre-Op and PACU units (no floating to other departments)\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response\n
• Administer blood products, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents\n
• Perform pain assessment and management, including PCA pump and RASS scale\n
• Recognize and manage dysrhythmias and malignant hyperthermia protocol\n
• Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing education as required\n
